Hey Folks,
Just found this forum, and reading all the posts. Really useful stuff.
I discovered load boards recently and am amazed at how many shipments there are on them. I see thousands, sometimes tens of thousands every day.
Does anyone know where load boards get their loads from?
Also, does anyone know if there are shipments on one load board that get duplicated on others?
Thanks!

Only load boards I use is the 3PL that I haul for, open boards are not my way to go.

You will see sometimes one load that 4 or more brokers have posted on the boards, it doesn't mean they are always double brokered loads usually what it means is a customer has a load that they use several brokers to get their loads moved. The same price is given usually to all the brokers from the customer now that doesn't mean every broker is going to try and move them at the same rate, so you have to call each broker and ask the rate as every broker will have a different rate so I advise you to shop around for the best rate. Some brokers pay the carriers different than the others so just cuz you see a load posted and you call one broker for a rate don't mean that is the same rate all the other brokers are offering the carrier. You have to call each one to find that out or call the one you have worked with in the past that you know is always fare to you and treats you good and pays you on time to the terms you agreed on.
You will know also when calling the other brokers for rates which ones are double brokered as the double broker loads will be a lot cheaper than what the other brokers are offering on the same load. It pretty common now days for customers to give out loads to several brokers to get their freight moved.
Hope that helps.. Once you make a few calls and get to know some brokers you will know real quick who is whoTwinStickPeterbilt and bbigcnote Thank this. -
