I bought new belts for my truck and am having trouble getting the fan drive belt off. I removed the six bolts on the front of the fan, but it didn't even loosen it. There is another nut in the middle of the fan, but I am thinking it has something to do with the temp sensor, and I am hesitant to remove it. Does anyone have any experience with this?

On my cummins N14 engine belt was big enoguh to remove it without taking fan off.. I just had to go one fans arm by one keeping one side of belt close to the center of the fan and rotating the fan itself..

never done it on D12 though :/

    good luck

I figured it out. The fan is just on the hub pretty snug. It took slowly prying it on one side, then the other, and finally got an extra pair of hands to pry from one side while I pried from the other. But the six bolts (9/16") are all that have to come off. Thanks!
