morehp Thanks this. -
If they did it I'm thinking I'm right , did he notice any difference ?
-
yep it can be done. you have to change the thermostate outer housing and the water plate that goes on the back of water pump and im not sure but may have to change the neck that goes to the oil cooler also. but from what i have seen it doesnt make much of a difference in water temp. just curculates the water faster.morehp Thanks this.

Here is some thermostat information for you all, many of you running the 248-5513 ?
248-5513
Start to open @ 178f = 81.1c
Fully open @ 198f = 92.2 c
247-7133
Start to open @ 189 f = 87.2c
Fully open @ 208 f= 97.7cblack_dog106 Thanks this. -
thats good to know i assume one is the 180's and the other is the 190 stats?
-
Thats when they start to open yes
-
learned something from mr.(guru) about thermostats. i used to run 180's now i run 190's they maintain temp more evenly than the 180's. or that's what i've seen in this new engine. but i'll see what happens this summer when it gets hotter out.
-
Yes it's coming out of summer here and I'm seeing a few issues with making reasonable power

Haven't taken the time to look at c18 water pump and t stat housing anyone know the flow difference between c15 ? or the size of the hose that goes from pump back plate to t stat housing ?
