I had decided to give PTL a try due to their HQ being only 30 miles from my home. This was the BIGGEST mistake I ever made. I am currently in a hotel room in Albert Lea, MN with the truck in the shop. It has a busted inner wheel seal; needs a new spindle; and the steering box is about to lock up at anytime. When I called them to inform them of the truck's condition; they tried to get me and my pregnant GF a bus ride home; but said I didnt have enough money available ($150) for a weekend stay at a roach motel aka Knights Inn. How can I have money available for a $450 bus fare but NOT a 3 day stay in a hotel?! The truck should be out of the shop today; and im bob-tailing home and kicking John Hayman straight in the balls! Do NOT go with this company... they truly dont care about their drivers. If you're a rookie, I see they like to take advantage of the drivers that dont know anything about how a company should treat their drivers. If you still go with this company after reading ALL the web has to say; you're an idiot, and deserve whatever hell they give you! I have NEVER bashed a company I worked for; but this weekend was over the top for me. My purpose isnt to continue the bashing of a bad company; but to confirm, help, and educate all drivers that ALL the reports about this company are true. May God have mercy on you if you choose to work for them.

I guess I don't see what's so horrible about their behavior. They did offer to get both of you home right away. Maybe they figure it's better to get you home and into another truck and moving freight than sitting in a motel waiting on a truck to be repaired. We all know how quickly a "three day repair" can become a "one-week repair" - all you need is one back ordered part and there you sit......maybe they figure its better to get you back out there making money than sitting around a cheap motel. Just sayin....

So they did end up putting you up in a motel? Or did you just assume that cost yourself?

i paid it myself. to no surprise, i just got a call from the shop and they informed me that PTL would NOT cover the cost of repairs. he said they told him their estimates were too high and to just fix the wheel seal and drag it out of the shop!!!

Exactly why most companies do this stuff not enough guys like copperhead295nKW with the guts to stand up for themselves. If drivers would grow a backbone and speak up the companies wouldn't be so quick to do this baloney,

Standing up for what? He paid for his hotel, and now he's going to leave a trailer sitting in MN and bobtail home, if I'm understanding this correctly. That's not a solution.

I'm very critical of the way companies treat drivers, but I don't agree with the complaint here. The bus SUCKS but its not some inhumane torture the way some of you whine about the greyhound is unreal. I think it was classy for them to offer to pay for you and your girlfriend if she isn't an employee.

If you have a valid issue it's with them putting you in a pos truck the problems that you described are not things that just pop up without warning. That truck had to be having some big red flag level warning signs imo.

The first time they put him in an old run down truck Then he went back again I know what you're thinking AGAINThe second time they gave him a new truck and it looked reallygreat sitting in the lot in murray ky. He sat there for three daysWithout a load. So he left again I have never heard any thinggood about this company
