Only a matter of time until they run into an inspector that knows the regs and actually looks. Do You Feel Lucky?

Even though I throw a couple straps over the top, When did that become a regulation?

Maybe those diagrams will settle this????

    I have a question though.

I see that the chains are ran under the stake pocket and hooked back onto the chain. Is that necessary or can they be ran down through the stakepocket and then hooked on the side of the stakepocket?

Either is legal, although running around the state pocket or spool then hooking to the rubrail, would be better than hooking to the side of the stake pocket.

Ok I stand corrected .... I was wrong and the regulation proves it .... Thank You!

To be 100% honest I am probably not going to change ... I do this daily ... I watch other drivers do this daily ... In and out of the mills all over the midwest ... I might consider a 4in strap over the top ... But as I stated some mills don't allow it ... And no im not putting 6 chains on it .... Do I feel lucky? No? Do I consider myself and other safe? Yup

    Again ... Thank You

That is your choice and your CDL to risk. Personally, I'll stick with the regs

CL10473, RERM and CAXPT Thank this.

How did you secure prior to 2006? The same as everybody else here still does?
