Thanks, guys! I could say that I was taught never to mess with things bigger than I. But the truth is that we traveled a lot when I was a kid, and we learned very quickly that it was the truck drivers that knew the ropes. We never had one bad experience with a driver and we came to respect them for both their character and knowledge of not just the road, but of how to navigate through the ups and downs of life. They were just down-to-earth folk doing their jobs under some not-so-ideal conditions.
You see, we often spent time with them. When Mom would pull out the little Coleman stove at rest stops to prepare meals, she'd make enough to share with those drivers who were milling around nearby... and it was the rare driver who would decline the offer. And I loved listening to their conversations!

Since You Seem To Be Implicitly Against Trucks No Matter What The Explanation To You Happens To Be, And You State You Are N Law Enforcement, Maybe If You Did Your Job Better The Trucks Would Not Have To Run In The Outter Lanes. If The Rules Of The Road Where Enforced When It Is The Vehicle Coming Off The Merge Ramps Responsibility To Yeild To The Normal Flow Of Traffic On The Main Thorougfare And If There Where More Ticketing Of The Irresponsible Actions Of Those Merging Then Perhaps The Big Trucks Could Afford To Run In The Right Side Lanes. However Since We Are Running In The Middle Lanes To Do Our Best To Prevent Accidents And It Is A Lot Easier To Manuver A 4 Wheeler Then It Is An 18, Maybe You Also Should Have Those Who Are Testing For Their Drivers License To Have To Know More About The Limitations Big Trucks Have They Would Learn To Merge More Effiecently And Alot Of Chaos Could Be Prevented. We Do Are Best To Keep Our Safety Records Clean, As Our Jobs, Pay Packages, And Performance Bonuses Depend Upon It. However From Reading YOur Replies To Other Posts In This Forum I'm Sure You Will Find Fault With Mine Also. After All I'm Just A Truck Driver.

lol..................6 months since i asked a simple question and some of you tough guy truckers are still responding.
well, iv'e paid real close attention to the truckers driving habits since i last posted. i have taken notice how in some situations staying in the middle lane is the safer way to go, however there is a high percentage of drivers that refuse to move back into the slower right lane when there is no merging traffic present or will be present for miles and miles.
after reading the repsonses from all the tough guys on here telling me how they have no respect for the law and other 4 wheelers, and proclaimng their superiority on the roads, i have decided to take on that same mentality toward the truckers.
you wont find me stopping short at intersections so trucks can make that easier wide turn, no more waiting to pull out in front of one if i'm not positive it wont make him slow down, i wont be slowing down so he can barely slip in front of me so merging traffic doesn't slow him down if he had stayed in the right lane..........etc.
i know for a fact that i have been way more considerate to truckers than they have been to me for the past 25 years, but after getting a feel for the minds of most(not all) truck drivers, i am done being the considerate one. i will now become one of the ones you complain about.............but i'll be doing it on purpose.
ps. i apologize to the few truckers that i may screw over that responded to my initial question with an honest, insightful answer void of namecalling and threats -
I do not believe you are in law enforcement for one. You'll have to prove that . And number two..... if you won't let a truck make a wide turn because he has no other choice, how long do you plan on sitting there like a ninkinpoop? Any smart truck driver will not budge in that scenario. I sure wouldn't. It's happened before... maybe it was you who thought you'd ruin my day but you are the one who is ruining your own day. You're trying to get revenge on an entire industry because of something you read in a forum? Grow up.

Wow, squid, sounds like very childish words from a person in law enforcement!! You're going to "get" the truckers back because of what has been said on this forum? That's not a very professional way to conduct yourself.
If there are three lanes, why shouldn't trucks sit in the center so they don't have to change lanes over and over and over and over and over again every time an on ramp or off ramp comes up? You can drive in the passing lane and go on by all the "slowpokes" so what's the problem?
I thought some were giving you a bit of a hard time though your post wasn't worded in a very friendly way but now with this most recent post full of insults and "I'm going to get you" attitude, you have no respect from anyone here at all, I'm sure.
You do not deserve to be a law enforcement officer. You should be fired and put in your place - maybe be a crossing guard where you'll learn to respect big trucks very quickly or else.
And you wonder why people have no respect for law enforcement when you come on here with such a crappy attitude??? I sure don't. The law enforcement in the USA is way too full of itself and way too quick to hurt innocent people. I wouldn't want their jobs by any means but a little respect goes a long way and you obviously have none for anyone.

just remember when your driving so aggressively that a truck weights a lot more then you and if the truck driver as the same attitude you might just end up under some tires and no that isn't any kind of a threat

I think that squid will wind up squish, with that attitude. Geez.
