when i worked for them, i had only good things to say. but now, i realize that i was wrong about them. sure, you;ll get miles, they will run you ragged. but make mistakes and they steal your money, write bad things on your dac, lie to you and give you the runaround. if things start to go sour, get out before they throw you out and leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere in 10 below zero weather. i;m just sayin![]()

Not to defend the driver, but come on, many other trucks do the exact same thing, in order to avoid the jam up at a merge point, if there is a lane closing ahead, and no one wants to move over. I have witnessed all the big companies do it, as well as owner ops.
In fact o/o are more guilty of doing this , than any one.Trucail Thanks this. -
You do realize that most of the time that so many cars are trying to get by where and when they shouldn't that is the dangerous part. Trucks usually are trying to keep idiots from causing another accident!

I simply call it traffic control.... if the four wheelers aren't smart enough, or considerate enough to get in line to allow the traffic to flow smoother then they need to sit and read my license plate number... just like the morons who will run up the shoulder because they think they are the only ones who have somewhere else to be... I love it when a cop parks on the shoulder and the 4 wheelers run right up and suddenly want back in before the cop sees them... They know exactly what they're doing when they run up to the squeeze point....

Driver... I see trucks try to run up too... I'm not prejudice... I am equal opportunity... I will put my 102" hindside in their way too... in a safe way... They are even guiltier.. because they surely know what they're doing... Get in line and wait your turn... I know the cops might consider it obstructing traffic... but if they were doing their job... it wouldn't happen... I am a very considerate driver... but the people who run up to the merge might as well be driving by flipping everybody the bird... because that is what their actions say....Trucail Thanks this.

The question is who gave them authority to play traffic cop? I see that as someone that thinks they own the road and others should bow down to them. The last I've heard is we all have to share the road. The bottom line is our job is to deliver freight safely without showing retaliation or playing little games to entertain one's self. Half the truckers that do that crap don't have a clue to proper traffic control. Unless 4 wheelers are forced to line up at the back of the line everything in front they have to merge regardless. So the truckers you see holding up traffic towards the front or middle are not accomplishing anything. They might think they are but they are not. It's nothing more than monkey see monkey do.joseph1135 Thanks this.

I would normally address you as driver except your sidebar says EX of 15 years... your sidebar says you've posted 12,136 times in 36 months... that gives you an average of 337 times a month... that would give you an average of 11 times a day... I don't know your circumstances, but you drove 15 out of 51 years of life... would you care to feed my inquiring mind of why you are so opinionated and an EX driver... in my opinion you are just another 4 wheeler out there.... and every truck driver knows that 4 wheelers are 99% of the problems out there... Please enlighten me.... I'll bet you voted for Senator McLipless too....

Really is an entire discussion. I don't think you can single out one driver at a company and come to any conclusions about the whole company. But this deal about blocking traffic in a merging situation is done all the time, whether it is right or wrong. Of course you shouldn't swerve around and intimidate. And there are sometimes it is better to let both lanes ride it out to the end. But there is an entire discussion on this topic here.

I plan to have all my ducks in a row whenever I leave. That is true at any company. But do you think there may be some exaggeration about being stranded in -10 weather? Do you mean at a bus stop or something like that?
I remember being told at orientation that if I decided to quit to plan on it being a very sudden situation. They said don't bother with the two week notice. I always have reserve funds to be able to get out of the truck anywhere on a moments notice. If I was in a wreck or broke down I would want to be able to rent a car and transport all my belongings.Last edited: Apr 6, 2013

They do not strand you, if you quit they will not give you two weeks, no, but they will get you a load back to the yard immediately. They do NOT want to have to retreive your truck!
