I have a stryker 497( no peak straight out of box) just would like to know what kind of amp i could drive, and where to set the variable power???

Most amps like about a 2 to 3 watt input unless its a high drive amp.
Best to have a CB shop set both the radio and amp up together on the bench. -
so a 4x2879 that need a 10 to 30 watts drive would work? and set my radio so it swings to 30 watts?

For that radio, I'd get you a high drive amp with four 2879's. A TNT HD 600 would be an example.

im looking at a fat boy 4x2879 could i over drive that with my radio? im worried about other drivers that use my truck time to time

Your radio is about 100 watts out of the box.
This amp would be a great setup but i still would have a shop match them up just to be safe.
