2 weeks with mine and other than the weight of it shakes my mirror a little at higher speed it is performing very well.
I get nothing but reports my radio sounds "top shelf and blowing smoke"
I think i will run it for now unless my mirror falls apart....lol! It is a heavy antenna.
It is doing good talking DX........Skip was rolling in Florida the other night and i talked to Boston.

Don't be shy cutting the MM rod untill SWR gets right. I've cut about 4 inches with the dremel cutter untill it was near perfection.
I'm using it on CB, as well as 10 and 12 meter amateurbands. Works great due to the large bandwidth of the MM.
By the way, I'm using the MM-7
I strongly recommend the MM. Even if you're not using it on the air....it's a peace of art just looking at it
-
I ended up cutting about 4 or 5 inches off to get the SWR right.....It is still working good.
-
I've had my MM's since 2001 and they have hit tree branches also and never had them break, and they are mounted on stock Volvo CB mounts on top of that. I had no problems tuning them either.
-
I have already trimmed a few trees with it......It did not harm the antenna at all.

Hey Buddy, Do you think there is much of performance gain over your Wilsons ???
THANKS -
Yes,but nothing drastic.
I believe the MM-9 does hear a little better.
As far as distance talking the MM-9 does about 30 miles while i was on the interstate and talking to a base unit.
The Wilson could do that also.My radio is doing 135 watts or better for PEP output so i think either antenna works well with my radio.
The only negative of the MM is the stress it puts on the mirror brackets......It is about a 3 lb antenna or it feels like it compared to the Wilson. -
I was thinking of trying one. The 2 draw backs would be the size and I would need 2. Just one on the mirror of my Pete just doesn't look right.
I think I will just stay with my Wilsons. THANKS -
Few weeks back I changed from a Wilson 2000 to a MM long. I haven't noticed any difference to justify the cost. I had to buy a new mount because it is much much heavier.
-
I hear ya! To me it would not be worth the cost for a dual setup.
Those Wilsons on your truck with the 10 inch shaft are probably doing a fine job.
Yea Colorato.....i bet it was fun mounting it to a Cascadia. They don't have a top mirror bracket do they?
