I've had our drivers sending their mid-week bill of lading's to the office. Someone mentioned a "trip pack". What is this? Where do I find out/sign up for it? Is it timely and how much does it cost?

It is an overnight service operated by DHL. The packets are sold at the truck stops. Around 16.00 per envelope. The fee for the envelope includes the overnight fee.

Go to a truck stop and you will see the boxes. Or go on the internet and google trip pak.

if your part of a trucking company then you will get a much different rate for the trip pack. more popular with the drivers is the ability to scan there paperwork at pilots and T/A's and you get the paperwok automatically, so the drivers get paid from it that week and don't have to wait for the company to get the paperwork to get paid.

Thank you all so much. Someone mentioned scanning. Does this mean they scan the bill of lading and then it gets emailed?

not really in that text exactley. drivers scan the paper work at truckstops and almost instantly the company gets the confirmation. not sure exactley how that comes acroos on that end, but am thinking on a seperate contraption or a printer of some sort.

After you scan your documents an Image of them is sent to your company Payroll/Billing dept.......where they look at them and get the pertinant info about the shipment.....Bill it.....and pay the driver. In a matter of minutes...instead of dys.

I scan my documents in my truck......and send them in to Transflo(a service just like Trip-Pack......within minutes I receive an email from Transflo letting me know that my documents have been processed! A few minutes later....my Quallcom beeps and my Payroll clerk sends me a msg stating that such and such trip # has been recrived and processed. All right from the comfort of my truck.....no more finding a Truck Stop.... I LOVE IT!!

Scanned documents are either sent to a company computer or to a fax machine. We always scanned/faxed everything in and got paid on time. We DID have to ensure the "backup" documents got to them IN PERSON within a reasonable time (within two weeks usually) or there'd be problems but a lot of companies do it this way now so you don't have such high costs getting your paperwork in on time.
