Well just hoo?ked up with a local gravel train company. Iv pulled trains in the past but mostly 8 axle steel trains and 8 axle grain dumps.

I guess im looking for some realworld advise on this type of work. Tips, tricks, ideas? All will be helpful.

End dump trains? I've heard of belly dump trains and side dump trains. I'd be curious to see your hitch systems...

We use a dolly and pintle hook set up just kike double van trailers use. Only difference is we use a big 2 inch pin that locks the rear pup to the dolly when we back up.. There is only 2 pivot points when backing
One at the trucks 5th wheel and then at the pintle hook connection

So you jackknife your 2nd trailer when you dump like a straight dump truck pulling a pup? If so are you mostly stockpiling material or what? This must take a ton of room to execute properly and safely, maybe you guys just have huge construction sites?

Will you be spreading or stockpiling? ALWAYS make sure you're on level ground. I used to pull a single triaxle end dump. Watch the box as it goes up, once it clears the saddles, if it shifts suddenly to one side, reposition yourself. I was lucky, but I know quite a few that have laid one on their side.

Im not sure alberta.. tomorrow was supposed to be my first day bit the rain has stopped tomorrows work.. gravel is all new to me.. i have pulled dumps for years but those were 45 foot frameless single dumps hauling shelled corn, wheat, and soy beans. They move a whole lot easier than gravel
