Bloodsucking rats! Not enough all the taxes and licences we pay to keep a truck on the road. They built huge inspection stations in Windsor,Sarnia, London ; money making bordels . Shame!

From the comments section after the article:
"You are away from home, sleeping in a truck. Your life and health are at risk every day. You have several layers of government agencies and thousands of Lawyers just waiting for you to make a mistake. You can be fined out a weeks pay or more in a heart-beat. You are expected to: Work 100 Hrs Required to Log 70 and actually get paid for 50. What other job does anyone do where they are told that their work time is for "Free"? You are responsible for equipment, travel times, and schedules, but have no say in any of it. I could go on all night! This is a TRADE...We are supposed to be professionals. And we are treated like dirt by all and sundry. Can't find drivers? Look In The Mirror! People are voting with their feet! And going elsewhere!"
This commenter has a good start on a great view of the issue. Add in, pay by the hour, guarantee some sort of time off ( not a reset at a company-convienient location ) and pension and benefits. What makes us, as truck drivers, any different from any other profession? We deserve the same benefits from our employers as any other. I believe that a fellow named Hoffa started something, years ago, with the intent to help drivers. -

EOBR's suck...why should anyone need a computer to tell them when they are tired? Do you need one RickG? I think most drivers have alot more common sense then that...
-
My question to RickG would be, are you paid by the hour? EOBR's would be ok, if you're paid by the hour.CbarM Thanks this. -
Stn4Cap Thanks this.

MTO's motto 20 years ago was "highway safety through education" today it's "highway safety through enforcement"
its nothing new to me that they have quotas, I had fines for ridiculous things inspected on my truck.
So glad I'm not driving there anymore, feel for you guys that still have to trek out that way.
I made a habit of always bypassing the scales.
