Volvo Check ECU message?

I'm not good with Volvo model numbers, but according to what I can find on Google the VNL42T is a day cab.

 

ECU-engine control unit or computer(engine brains)You have to use diagnostic,it's tell you code of fault and then you may call Volvo service.With some serious fault computer just gonna shutdown engine automatically after warning.

 

Main suspect of that is a faulty speed sencor.

 

JUST REMOVE YOUR RIGHT FOOT FROM OILPAN.

 

Next time try the Volvo diesel. I think you will get better mileage out of it.

The volvo I used to drive had a 400hp ISX and got 6-7.2 mpg. The are a lot of factors to consider: Do you pull a van? If so, do you have a roof fairing? Where is your 5th wheel set- is your tractor-to-trailer gap big or small? And these are just some of the more prevalent culprits, there are many more things that affect MPGs. I used to run my 5th wheel just ahead of the front drive axle, so the gap was really small. In return, I was always over on my steers (MT I was 11.9-12k, loaded up I was 12.4-12.5k) but never got hassled about it.

VNL42 is the designation for a single drive axle tractor; the tandem drive tractors are VNL64. 670 is the small condo, 780 is the larger condo (it has windows where the pop-out bunk vents would be), and the 880 is the big bertha (at least as far as Volvos go). 420 is the small flattop sleeper, 630,730 and 830 all indicate midroofs.

 

Thanks for explaining that to us all, wallbanger. I reckon the one I drove when I was at PAM would've been the VNL64 670. The 780's are nice. I'd love to have that table in the back.

 

Yeah that does look like a cool setup. The 670 I drove (for covenant) was one sharp handling truck (and nice riding) but the extra room of the 780 would come in handy.
