What companies would give an ex-felon a chance to prove themselves?

most apps I have filled out do ask about criminal history and felonies in particular. However, it seems to me many of them say right by felonies (doesn't automatically disqualify).

I would play it like a numbers game. it only takes 20 minutes or so to fill out an app online and there are sites you can fill out apps which will send them to many companies. Just make it your job filling out apps until someone hires you... Alot of it is being in the right place at the right time, believe me, when a trucking company gets a new contract requiring 30 new drivers or something they will bend all kinds of rules.

Another suggestion I have for you is if you get turned down, follow up on it, call, ask why. explain that you are rehabilitated and motivated to do a good job because you know there aren't many options out there. be persistent. The point being, once they tell you NO, you have nothing really to lose by making them tell you NO two or three times. And often that is when you will find someone willing to make an exception.

if you keep applying to those large outfits, you'll have a difficult time.

Smaller companies are the only way to go.

I think we are making the Insurance Companies the OWNERS of the trucking industry. I worked for a company in Florida. Commercial Carrier Corporation. Today, CCC LLC . That company in the construction days, the only way you could get fired was if you killed someone in a accident. Not kidding. Guy Bostic was the first man to get a cement operation authority in the 1950s in Florida. He was the biggest private trucking owner in the country until JB Hunt tied him in the 1970s. So Guy Bostic and his influence got away with the safety problems. The Insurance Companies did not mess with him until the year 2007. That year he could not find a company that would insured him, so he went self insured. He put millions down with the only ins. that he found and had to install the computers eaton vorad. Some of you might know what it is. So yes, there are companies that are self insured and this driver with the felony can work with them. Just got to keep looking.
