    Hey Gang,

I'm really a carpenter but I just bought a '89 Peterbilt 379 with a boom mounted to it at auction. Nothing like jumping in head first. I've run a boom plenty before so that part is old hat. The CDL and mechanics of the truck are all new though. I had a friend with a CDL get it back to my yard and will probably just beg around to get it moved when I need to for now. It will mostly live at my job site for a month or two between moves. It's been rode hard and put away wet so I'm trying to get everything back up to grade before taking it to the house I'm building now.

Looks like there is a lot of good advice on here. Thanks to all y'all that contribute. I've always admired big rigs and the folks who operate them.
