Who's week? Or were you asking "this" (not "his") week, as in how my miles went? If the latter, week went fine & ended up with 2013 miles. :)

Usually go back out Sun to get to consignee in time to get my 10 hour break before delivery at 7am Mon, but this load's so close to home, I'll probably just head out Mon morning.

RevKev Thanks For the thread very informative. Can you say what the average age was in your orientation class? I am 45 and just wondering how hard tarping and untarping is? Just got CDL and checking out companies.

Well, let me think...(as dangerous as that can be)....one guy was in his mid-50's. Other ages were 24, 27, 27, 41, & 49 (me). The 50-something guy didn't pass the very first road test. Trust me on this, if you pass a legitimate road test to get your CDL, the first road test at MTL will be a breeze! I met a driver trainer for MTL last week that is 65, & he's been doing driving for only 5 years, all with MTL. All that said, if you're used to any physical labor at all, you can do this. In fact, the trainee my trainer had before me had only done office work before this & was a good bit overweight, but he's doing fine. If you're concerned about it, I'd say just start doing some walking, maybe some stretching, pushups, those sorts of things. If you're in relatively decent shape, it won't be a problem for ya.

Oh, forgot to mention the tarping. It's not all that bad. Forklift guys are usually glad to put the rolled up tarps on top if your loads for you. A lot of our loads already have the tarp over the load when we get there. We may have to pull it around a bit, adjusting it, & then just bungee it down & strap the load.

Now, folding & rolling a wet tarp or one that's frost-covered isn't a while lot of fun, but still nothing that's overly hard. Besides, only takes a few minutes then you're in the cab, rolling down the road...in recovery! lol
