As much as I don't wont to I may have to give them the 2 weeks just to avoid the headache of trying to fight with hire right or who ever they are... Is there a way I can Have dot do an inspection without me getting the fine so at least the faults can be repaired for the mean time?

Well nobody likes a snitch, cause that's how you will be viewed by them, but yes you can report them for having maintenance and safety issue's.
-
it does not work that way when you dispute it the company is given a chance to change report if they choose than all is good if they don't all you can do is give a 100 word rebuttal
-
that company and fleet manager sound like a piece of work

If you tell them you quit while on the road they still have to dispatch you back to the terminal. Though a short notice it still is a notice. All you have to do is tell them you quit. Quitting without notice is dropping the truck off and sneaking out of the parking lot. I had WestSide Transport pull that crap on me. I was hired in as a long haul driver and they decided to go all short haul a few months later. After many 1500-1700 mile weeks I had a discussion with the senior dispatcher. He said if I didn't like it then quit. I said okay, route me back to the terminal which he done. I didn't know until a couple years later but he trashed my DAC with quit under load. I disputed it and won.
What I would do is write up the truck on a DVIR and check it's unsafe to operate. Then make you a copy of the report. They have no choice but to fix the truck or have the mechanic falsify the report as safe to drive. You got them then because they can't force or coerce you to drive an unsafe truck.
Then when they trash your DAC you dispute it and tell them about the unsafe truck and give them a copy of the report(s). Then with you having physical evidence and them just their word you will win.rockee, critters and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
It's funny you brought up OOIDA cause I'm actually thinks of joining them
