A trainer who has 7 months experience? A trainer who just got off a suspension? Sounds like the inmates running the asylum

I think there might be something wrong with you, sir. Despite everything I've been through, which even the worst of the bottom feeders wouldn't subject the average student to, I still chose to keep the company anonymous and maintain my employment with said company. If you're even suggesting that it would ever be okay to have a trainer "force" you to drive without pissing or ######## for 10-11 hours straight, then you're the one that needs to do some "soul searching." And I had already disclosed my court appearance to the company a week prior to orientation, as well as again to my driver leader in the days prior. It was she who promised that i'd be paired with the same trainer, not I. In fact, she insisted upon it due to the fact that i'd already had two unsuccessful apprenticeships. She knew how long i'd be away for and still made that promise. Ergo, I'd have the right to be somewhat upset if that promise made did not materialize. The owner operator did not want me driving 10 hours. I suggest you learn to comprehend what you read. The company driver they'd matched me up with afterwards was the one I had that issue with. And I have no problem driving my full hours. Its what I came on board to do. What I do take issue with is having to do ALL of the night time driving while being subjected to loud phone conversation about how I'm supposedly sick and contaminating our shared space...
If you're so eager to find confrontation, I'd suggest you search for posts with more potential for argument. Nobody in their right mind could ever defend the actions of the poor trainers I've mentioned above. And suggesting that because I had to step off of the truck, three weeks in, for a matter of days, I should have to wait nearly a month for a new trainer...well, the words "company plant" come to mind. Have a good one.scottybones and mje Thank this. -
Then , if it's so bad with the trainers you've had, WHY ARE YOU STILL THERE?
Hanadarko, mje and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
The only thing I found wrong was with the driver that wanted you to drive 60. It costs $800-1200 to fill up a truck, he is making the payments and watching the bottom line, there is a big difference in fuel mileage between 60 and 70. And a trainee has no business running 70 anyway until they have the experience to handle the truck. Now thats out of the way, Hope you get finished up and leave as soon as you can. Get at least a year in.I trained for 10 years there were a lot of mistakes made by all these mentors, especially the last one.
mje Thanks this. -
That actually had crossed my mind. He was broke and fuel milage, even when you're talking about 5mph, could add up. For what it's worth I did slow down once he brought it to my attention (rather rudely I might add). Idk what his real issue was to be honest. He told his dm that he was kicking me off the truck because I was trying to impose my religious beliefs on him. I am a christian and I realize that bringing my bible on board and listening to christian radio may have irritated him. But I don't see how that could ever be grounds for expulsion and I certainly do not preach at anybody. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt by assuming he was too embarrassed to admit to his dm that the extra 5mph were killing him financially.mje and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.

with these mega carrier lease purchases they are on such a thin profit margin it adds up. that extra .02 cpm was a lot to him. Still no excuse for his rude behavior, some people do not have the personality to train, when I had a trainee I told them it was out truck ,within reason. There were still ground rules. I let them know up front that I was a devout evangelical christian and of they had a problem then we never left the yard. Hope you can get training out of the way.

What religion was he?mje Thanks this.

The saddest thing was that he was so negative about everything. From the moment I stepped on to the truck he had something rude or insensitive to say about just about everything. I do not ever preach or impose my beliefs upon anybody, but if ever i came across a lost soul in need of enlightenment, he'd be it.
He saw my bible and immediately went on a tirade about the evils of organized religion. To each their own, I respect everybody's beliefs, even those of the misguided atheist or agnostic. I'm assuming he was the latter, though, because all he kept saying was "theres no way to ever prove anything about anything"mje Thanks this. -
Do you have another opportunity you'd like to offer me? Until then, try to address your concerns with a little less implied judgment...mje Thanks this.
