Hellooo from Canada!

Hi everyone! Just wanted give a quick introduction and say Helloo to all! I am new to the world of trucking so I am soaking in all the info I can get before my husband and I start official training (were going to team together!) I am searching for any info a new to truck driving couple could expect, such as hiring process for our situation, training period (if we will train together or seperate), rate of pay and any other usefull tips. We are a young couple 30 something, have been together for 19 yrs, raised a son and had other career/jobs over the years, (my husband will actually be leaving his current job which is also a very good job to pursue this). Driving truck was originaly my idea, after alot of research I think will be an amazing opportunity for us. We are looking to put some wheels under us and see the country.
OTR/long haul is our point of interest, we dont mind to be out for weeks at a time, but would like some home time to spend with our son, family/friends. Also, we will go where the $$$ is but neither of us want to get into physically loading or unloading goods. I have so many questions and I am Sooo excited to start this journey! Sorry if I went on too long, just trying to give an idea of who we are.. that and I get really excited when I talk about long hauling it!
