I've been trucking about 24 years now and have never broke a antenna that I can recall! I have run fiberglass antennas 95% of the time. I've had some get loose at the base, probably from getting whacked one two many times, but they were antennas that had been in use for awhile anyway. I started out hauling grain for the first 9 years and loaded a lot of corn off "the farm", which means I had to go down gravel roads a lot of the time to get there so it isn't like I ran interstates all the time. Am I just lucky, or maybe just careful????? (always had at least 4ft antennas also) There is no point to this really except I'm surprised at how many drivers on here talk about breaking fiberglass antennas. I understand why Dump Truck drivers break so many, but not OTR drivers............
