Maybe the Mod Squad can make this a docked thread for everyones info.

I thought this would be a good place to post current trends we all are seeing in rail damages, transit damages, vandalism etc etc.

I can start with a few below.

    2013 Hyundai Elantra's:

I've noticed a few coming with what looks like a boot toe mark or more like a dent under the drivers door rocker panells.

    2013 and 2014 Lincoln products:

I haven't seen any myself, but there has been enough for Ford to generate a warning to carriers. The Lincoln emblems are being picked off the key fobs in transit simillar to the hood emblem epidemic of few years ago.

I'm not a car hauler but worked at new car dealerships for years. We would see vehicles come in with consistent damages like youre talking about.

Seems like a great idea for a sticky thread.

That is from the rail unloader going too fast thru a string of railcars. They are well aware that they are not the last ones to touch the unit and are very comfortable with the haulaway carrier taking the hit for them. I can remember a few years ago Crown Vic/Grand Marquis loaded out of Kansas City mixing center...transmission crossmembers bent from too fast across the bridge plates.

I have also watched the rail unloader damage a unit, put it back up on the railcar, and take photos as if it arrived at the ramp that way...I've seen it happen many times...

yea ive seen some werid #### at the rails myself. that if we done we would be barred.
They cut cross way thru the parking spots and hit one guy and he still hasnt got his money.

I just mind my own and dont raise flags so i can keep getting in the gate lol

That is the smart thing to do. The railroad has the final say on who gets inside their property. I had Teamsters that did not quite get that, get kicked out, and think the International would get them back inside...I've got news, the railroad/railroad police don't give a rats ##### what the local thinks. If the railroad puts you out, an act of congress aint gettin you back in again.
