I went Tuesday for my pre-orientation (drug & driving test). Today I will find out who is going to be my Trainer. 8 weeks seems to be a long time in a truck w/ someone you just meet.
Today is the Day!

Eight Weeks May Seem Like Forever If You Don't Get Along, can You Dump Them For Another Trainer If You Don't Get Along?
-
7 days was too long for me. I hope your's bathes regularly.

Shoot, I don't mind if the trainer smells bad. Can she or he train well? I've experienced it both ways.
The last thing anyone needs is to be trained in such a poor fashion that it causes a safety hazard and them BAM! Here's your wreck, here's the injuries you may have caused, here's your damages, here's your insurance hike, here's your talk with the boss who hired you because he or she had faith in you, and here's the reflection of it on your DAC on top of all the bad emotions that go with it. All because Homer Bad Trainer felt like skipping a few necessary things on teaching you your pre trip inspection or what not.
With all due respect friend, I could care less how the trainer smells - Give me Gunny Sgt. Hartman from Full Metal Jacket for as many weeks as he desires. I may despise the son of a gun for what he does to me, but I'll leave there with confidence and the best training in the world short of learning straight from God.
And that'll make everyone safer.
God bless and be safe,

You'll be fine. If this is what you want, dont let anyone stop you.

Don't worry about the time, it's more important to take as much as you can from your trainer. Hey, maybe you won't do everything the same way he/she does, but at least you will know one way. Ask as many questions as you can think of. This is for YOU! You probably will get frustrated and tired of the trainer, but soon enough you'll be on your own and wishing you had asked that one question you just remembered. Relax and learn all you can. Have fun!

Its been 2 days with my trainer. 1st day he drove and just told me to ask any and all questions i had. The 2nd day i drove (627 mi) and he told me umpteen things and said he would be repeating everything over so don't fret. He is very professional and said i would be doing all the driving while he is riding in the right seat logging line 4. 8 weeks is going to be tuff. He said he would try and get me thru home if i needed to which i do. anyone need to buy an airplane? Anyway, i'm having fun and will post later.
