    A friend of my father tells me ill find good paying job in Odessa, Texas if I get hazmat and twic. Note I've only had my cdl since 3/25/13 currently I have tank and doubles-triples anyone has any insight as to the reality of texas intrastate trucking

    You certainly need haz mat added to your tank if you're going to truck in Odessa. I guess if you're going to Houston to get pipe you'd need TWIC, but otherwise, not sure why you'd need twic unless there is a foreign trade zone in Midland/Odessa?

    There are similar jobs all over TX. Odessa is not exactly the garden spot of TX and affordable housing lacks a lot to be desired

    I was in getting my twic card a couple weeks ago. There was a guy getting one because he was an electrician and needed it to get in a power plant.

    TWIC will get you in and out of piers and Rail yards. It is usually associated with Intermodal and ocean containers.

    The oilf field is hiring all the drivers it can get out of the driving schools. 1/3 of my class just went to west texas, the panhandle and lower part of OK.
