Stay away from J.F. Freight in Palatine, IL. Had a bad accident due to faulty equipment. Air conditioning fixed numerous times only to fail again once outside the yard.

If the equipment was faulty??...then who forced 'em to drive the truck??...

    I'd guess no one...

No one can force you to do anything unsafe nor illegal..

I have seen this company on the road. They have the junkiest equipment ever. They run reefers to California right? They're always advertising on Craigslist for drivers.

LMAO I have reason to believe this outfit is actually American owned. The guy that always trolls Craigslist his name is Bob or something like that. Not very European sounding. LOL

Yes, they re-habbed a lot of equipment, and most of the office was Polish. (Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Polish, in fact I have some very dear friends that are Polish.) I just didn't like how this place did business. Even though it was a newer Volvo he drove for them, the air conditioning kept going out in the summer. The shop would do a temp fix, and soon as he was out on the road again, it would break down again. Since the accident when the windows fogged up so suddenly that he couldn't see out the window & didn't have time to stop, thus running into a truck in front of him, he's looking again.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good trucking company that has VOLVOS and a PET POLICY? We saw a virtual tour on the internet of the newer 2013 Volvo 780 and he loves it cuz of course it's automatic, and also has the pop-up table that comes up from the bottom bunk, AND has the windows at that level as well as the top level.

If his only gripe is the truck maybe ask them for a better truck?

No, it's more than that. After the accident, they initially said they would have someone pick him up, then never returned his phone calls. He waited 4 days and no one showed up, leaving him there to pay the hotel bill and for a U-Haul to get his stuff back home. If they could not pick him up or something, they should have just told him in the first place instead of just leaving him there to pay for those extra days.

What state did the accident occur in? What happened to the truck? Did they tow it back to Chicago?
