Ignoring everything else, Prime doesnt hire CDL holders with no recent experience, unless they are trainees who are new grads from a CDL school.
They will hire "no recent experience drivers," but require a refresher course.
There is no refresher course at Prime.
Given your situation, you still have to go somewhere else and pay for one or get 6-8 months experience at another company. Of course, hopefully that company will hire you with no recent experience.

Thanks for your reply Chucktaylor. I know my post was long and maybe a bit tedious to read and you may not have read or really qued in on the end of the first paragraph where I wrote about what the Recruiter told me: "...she shared that IF I was allowed to return to Prime, having renewed my CDL though I haven't driven in all of this time, I'd have to take a refresher course before coming for re-training (I called U S Truck Driving School and was quoted $2400 for a one week refresher class, as one example of a possibility.)"
It seems like you may be very familiar with Prime and I would greatly appreciate your input on the questions in the rest of my post, which are the ones I really need to find out about.
Thank you. -
I'd think that you'd have to get some OTR experience somewhere else before coming back to Prime, and that'll still mean shelling out for a refresher course most likely. BEFORE you do something like that, get a commitment that you'll be hired if you take the refresher course.

Most good paying companies won't hire you as of now, especially Prime. I tried, but turned it down due to them not getting back to me in time. Tracy was pulling my arm and I couldn't afford to wait, so I went with Schneider. Try there. They have three weeks of training at $80/day, then you're off to roll solo or what have you.

I daytrade also have for years. When I get up nice or can't get my mind right,( losing streak) go trucking or do something else for a while. Cleanse your mind. With tech today do a 34 in the middle of the week and trade if you want. Just sayin.
By the way when I talked to the recruiter at Prime, really nice lady by the way named Tammy, she said you do what? She didn't know what I was doin so scanned trade sheets e-mailed and they were good with it.Twicebit Thanks this. -
