Hey everybody, Im looking to get into the trucking industry, I have researched different companies and read alot of helpful post on here. Im 21, I have no criminal history and a good driving record. I have only had 1 job from july 2012 until february 2013, could this cause me to not get accepted by a company? I don't have a cdl yet and i i applied to 3 companies that have their own cdl training 2 weeks ago and I didn't get a call yet. What should I do?

Most companys that have there own cdl trainin have a waiting list. Maybe you should call them. Only having 1job wont hurt you too much depends what you was doing before that. Try getting a grant to go to a collage or a driving school...

Check with your local community college and see if they offer cdl training. They often have more options as far as grants, loans, etc.

I already checked the college, they don't have the cdl program anymore, but it's 1 trucking school in my area and it cost $4900 for 4 weeks and they said they help with job placement

My school was like that. The tuition was financed and Stevens paid the loan as long as I worked for them a year. I worjed for two fulfilling my end of the contract. That was back in 1998.

Funny thing. Fast forward to 2011 when I went to get a refresher. They offered free refreshers at my school as long as you did not owe on your tuition. My file didn't contain proof the loan was paid but did show that my tuition had been paid to the school. As it was, the finance company that fronted my tuition had been out of business for several years and if I owed, it was to them and not the school so I got the green light to get a refresher.

I would suggest a trucking school in your area. This will give you more options on who to go to work for. Plus you will not be stuck with whatever company you would choose to let get you a cdl.
