    What is this tool used for? I always see it at truck stops but am too embarrassed to ask.

    Its for open deck work. One end (the open end) is for binders and the pointed end is for strap winches on the trailer.

    This tool is very dangerous. If not used properly, it will knock you down where the sun don't shine.

    Its a winch bar for tightening the ratchets for the straps on flatbeds or step decks.

    if used properly it's a tool for flatbedders. chains and straps.

    if not careful, it'll brake your glasses and slice your forehead. and possibly even some teeth.

    there's actually 500 pound wonders that can really make them chains TIGHT.

    and like most of the post above. they only use theres for security or sanity againt intelligently challenged humans. :biggrin_2559:

    Nothing wrong with asking and nothing to be embarrassed about.

    You'll find that the majority of drivers out there and on these forums are more than willing to be of assistance and sometimes they will even provide assistance without being a smart "butt" about it.
