Ill answer before anybody else does so I can feel like I can predict the future lol everybody is to comment and say "don't lease". A good thread to read is the one by Ironpony, I can't remember the name but I think it's prime leasing(I'm not sure)

Whoa now, he drove for Stevens/Wstrn Express/Schneider and you say he wants a good company ? Lets analyze the problems with these 3 companies first. It sounds like you/him are only thinking about how to get $1500 a week paycheck. 3 months from now, you'll be here asking the same question.

Regardless of the COMPANY 2 things that need to be addressed with a LEASE deal.

    1) How much experience does your husband have driving a truck

    2) How much experience do you both have with running a business?

Also, out of that $1500 you will need to pay for health ins, quarterly taxes, & put money aside to pay for time off ( if the wheels ain't turning & making money Prime will still want their rental payment). Now that $1500 weekly is down to about $750. If you are ok with that then knock yourselves out. But I highly suggest you take Rollin18's advice and read some of the existing Prime threads. THE FORUM SEARCH ENGINE IS YOUR FRIEND. One more thing, of your hubby doesn't have the mindset of being a BUSINESSMAN FIRST & truck driver second, do yourselves a favor and remain a company driver.

P.S. since you live close to the DFW area I'll suggest you look at the Poly Trucking thread. Good luck.

Guaranteed $1500 a week for the first three months? What happens on day 1 of month 4?

Also have the mindset that your not earning $1500 a week, you're paying yourself whatever is left after the deductions as your own employee.

Look at Greatwide; some friends of mine are doing very well with that company.
All companies have complainers, so try to read between the lines when choosing.

AFAIK, Prime certainly does NOT guarantee $1500 for the first 3 months. You really need to understand how to run a business if you are thinking about leasing. I'm not saying you can't earn that much, but they aren't going to guarantee it.
