Sorry guys, its just the situation I'm in. I'm not trying to be disrespectful at all. We would definitely cover fuel. The movie business is extremely slow and its a lot of "hurry up and wait" so the trucks are not actually driving that much and 90% of the time they'd be stationary. I'm hoping someone looks at this like a different opportunity than a normal trucking gig and be a part of a movie (as cliche as that may sound). Double Edge's last film, "INK", was seen by just over half a million people on Netflix and played a small theatrical run.

I'll make some calls and see. You never answered any of the questions I asked before, so I don't know if you're looking for specific truck and/or trailer types.
TheFrame Thanks this. -
Maybe some CDL mill can give their students some "extra credit" work .

Thanks again...
As far as trucks are concerned. We are flexible, but my understanding is we need 48 or 53 foot cargo trailers (they do not need to be reefer trailers as all of them will be empty except one that will have 55 gallon Barrels (not full) in them).
May 21-24 we need 2 trucks with trailers - probably total driving less than 25 miles.
May 28 and 29 we need 3 trucks with trailers
May 30 and 31 we need 1 of the three trucks with a trailer (this truck also has 2 special effects..explained below)
1. It crashes into a security car so from what others have said ideally an older peterbilt or we could purchase a cattle bar/grill. We have a licensed SFX person that will make everything safe for both drivers and cable the security car most likely to minimize the impact.
2. It crashes through a chain link security gate - the gate will be scored and will just break open also minimizing any potential damage). -
Have you priced na cattle bar/grill? Probably looking at $2000-$3000.
-
Not to mention the RISK of actual damage to the frame from the impact even if you do use a push bumper.....
I'd be interested, but daily detention charges are a lot higher than $125. that doesn't even include driving a single mile. -
Will you require the same 2 trucks May 28 and 29 you had May 21-24 ? Will 1 of these same trucks be needed May 30 and 31 ? If so , what are the 2 trucks supposed to do May 25-27 ?
Do you plan on future truck movies ? Don't you need trucks to move your equipment ? Might be better off buying your own trucks . -
Yes we were aware that the cattle bar may cost us something like that, but ideally we may find a truck that already has one, or we find someone who woud want that and we pay that as payment (pending that can supply more than a single truck, maybe help facilitate all of them).
We are very conscious of the damage that may happen to the truck and when we find the truck and driver I will coordinate them with our SFX foreman to work out the details and try to mitigate any of that risk.
I understand your concern on the daily detention, hopefully we find someone based in Denver or the area.
As to the dates. They could be the same trucks if they are non-descript enough that we could use them again. I'm assuming the May25-27 dates are the detention dates and hopefully we have someone local.
I don't plan on doing future truck movies - I've done 20 films and this is the first time having to work with semis in the movie - which is very different than the trucks that we use to bring our equipment to and from location...equipment is getting smaller and cheaper and its not necessary to have the big semis for all of the lighting and camera equipment.
Unfortunately this is the disconnect from a movie which you see in the theater (avg budget $75 million dollars and up to $250 million -- not to mention marketing dollars) and a low budget independent film just can't even compete.
I appreciate everybody's patience, being that i don't know anything about trucks and don't have the cash to offer that you all would like.MNdriver Thanks this.
