I run Ga to Seattle for 4 years its really nice country up there .you will burn more fuel going out, coming back you will burn less.
if you run 70 in Co its a climb all way across but downhill on way back.
run 80 thru ne its the same way with alot of wind. Wy not so bad unless there having high winds.
And if you new to those area's dont run backroads some of the roads over there have 9% switch backs for 9-10 miles not 6% thats a baby.
If you smoke brakes on a 6% stay east of 25 lol
also LEARN to be able to run grades without a jake I know alot of the new guys thats all they know .well what are you going to do the first time your heavy and half way down and it stops working? ive had it happen it makes you squeeze cushion but i learned to drive in a mack with no jakes so i dealt with it.
Also everyone talks about donner thats nothing try the old road for donner.
and last point if your going to be one of the guys that sit in the truckstop when chain law is on i suggest you not go there ive had to chain 3-4 times a day out west.
Going thru Rocky Mountains like CA, OR, WA

I tell people all the time. You have to have a certain mentality to be a trucker, and do all the things we do. Let's face it. Trucking is lonely, challenging, and at times downright scary. You ever parked at a rest area in the northwest, on a US road for your 10 hour break, and been the only truck there? Ever had to walk to the rest room during that time ...at 3 in the morning? I have! Friday the 13th ain't got nothing on me. But then again these are some of the exact reasons we truck. Go back to to a 9 to 5, with a boss breathing down my neck. Go back to a predictable, same routine life, where the highlight of the week is saturday morning cartoons. Not me. Spring break in florida? I get paid to go there. Mardi grass in New Orleans? I get paid to go there. Vegas? Guess what? I get paid to go there. Skiing in aspen. Surfing in cali. And the lizt goes on and on. Bottom line trucking is for those that really want to live life to the fullest.

If you think I90 or I80 is fun, try US95 or US12.

LOL @ US95 JJ and I were on US95 twice a week for 2 years it wasn't so bad!

It's more fun than I90.
Regardless. Get off the big road and hit the two lanes. Be amazed what you are missing. -
Just that it wasn't so bad!

Funny how two years of driving something changes your perspective of something from your first time.Nolelover61 Thanks this.
