Again Ricky this statement is WRONG.You want to know exactly what that customer is paying the broker, agent or carrier. Not the ''fudged'' up freight bill they ''show'' you after they skimmed alot of money off the top.

.CORRECT.Or the ''fake'' bills they try to put ''white out'' on and then show you the rate.

I don't know how anyone can work for a company that does things like that. Blows my mind.

I never had anything like that happen. But, there are some of the larger carriers who have their own brokerage departments and run loads through their brokerage before sending it to the parent company. In that case, they are skimming. It may be legal, but certainly not ethical. I have always had direct access to load information. I have also provided drivers with real numbers without anything being altered. I don't think that most carriers who do percentage will skim from owner operators or drivers. But, I also know some may. Percentage requires that both parties be honest and up front with one another. I have had drivers who would have preferred to be paid mileage, even though they were making more on percentage. I never understood that thinking, but to each their own.

..You would be surprised what i have seen Agents,Brokers and Company owners do to drivers. It is all about ''cheap labor''.It's all about keeping as much for ''themselves'' and giving it to the cheapest driver to run it.Trucking is a dirty game.Always was and always will be.

Even here at Landstar.I see our BCO's pulling for $1.00 a mile at 45,000 lbs, claiming they are ''making profit''..:biggrin_25513:

I am not sure how any "skimming" or anything about the freight bill is of any issue anyway. If the rate the person actually gets fits their pistol, then it is essentially a non issue. So what if the customer is actually paying $5 a mile and I am only getting $2.50. I seemed to think it was an ok rate, as I agreed to it. If I didn't, I could just walk away from the discussion. Whatever rate is offered, if it fits what I need to move the truck and the load doesn't take me to an area I want to avoid, then it is really a non issue at that point.

Cowpie. If you or anyone signs a ''contract'',it does matter. In my ''contract'' it states that i will get the 72% or 65% of the ''stated'',''actual'' BILL..!!!!...If a Landstar Agent is getting $6.00 bucks a mile,i should get the % i agreed to per contract.

If i find he/she is giving it to me for $3.00 a mile, they are screwing me and they are STEALING.This is a ''CRIME''.!!!..My contract does not state that the ''agent'' is allowed to skim and skam and then pay me my %..It again states i will get the % of what the ''customer'' is paying. So therefore i want to see the ''original'' bills and the ''original'' number. So,for me it DOES MATTER..:biggrin_25516::biggrin_2559:

The sad part of this is the ''original'' can be fudged to make it look like anything they want. Thanks to the new digital age and computer age.
