I've been giving serious thought to this company, i'm not terribly thrilled about flatbeds, or tarping, but if they can get me home every weekend it will be worth it
my main question is for those who work for Mav, I live in Dallas Tx, will i be getting home every weekend?
and since there is no Maverick terminal in my area, how does that work, do i just bring the truck home with me? or do they have a drop yard that i can park it at... because i cant exactly pull in to my apartments with a bobtail (they would probably tow the #### thing) and there is absolutely no room for me to park with a truck and trailer anywhere near my apartment (at least without the risk of it getting towed)

Well you guys,
I'm off to (Specialized) orientation on Sunday. I admit I am nervous as heck! But in looking at the situation, I have to do what is necessary for my family. I just retired from the Army and sittin' around the house is just not cuttin' it.Wish me luck!
I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the conversation.

P.S. I need a handle. -
well so much for that, i just got off the phone with Paul at Mav recruiting and he told me flat out that the only thing available for texas is the longhaul division (not interested in that in any way shape or form...)
the only thing i was interested in was the US division so i could be home on weekends, but if they cant give me that then i will keep looking elsewhere -
had to postpone orientation again for maverick......#### things keep happening........

Good luck to ya. Like I said keep us informed. My handle is Lunchbox. -
sorry to hear you had to put off orientation. i am still waiting and waiting. if they don't set up my orientation soon i may have to take another offer.

How long have u been waiting beanhauler? -
well kaydriver it's been about 6 weeks now since my application was approved and waiting for an orientation date. i call their recruiting number and they look at my file and say i've been pushed through ok but waiting on oriention dates. i have been through their hiring commitee and everything. i also already have my cdl so i don't need any school. lol i haul beans and corn in a beat up freight-shaker,
and there are very few loads right now. so i am waiting for maverick. i saw you were trying to get your cdl did you get it yet? i don't think it helps on the wait very much. good luck
