Question about Yonkers new York

That's good.NYC or any major city in the northeast sucks in a big trk.

 

Shortest route will have you taking I-61 to I-81 to I-78 to I-95 (NJTP) over the George Washington bridge (upper level) to I-87N to Yonkers. Taking I-287N to I-80 E will only add a few miles and you will save on Tpke tolls. If you don't have EZ Pass the GW bridge will cost you $75 for 5 axles from NJ to NY (free coming back). If you can run over on miles, I-287 to I-87 South over the Tappan Zee ($33 or less depending on time) is longer but easier and cheaper on tolls. Although you will be north of the city you will want to avoid rush hour (6-9AM/ 4-7 PM). Yonkers is not that bad but some tight streets and docks. Good Luck.

The shortest route from Owensboro to Yonkers would be US 231 N to I 64E , I 71 N , I 270 E , I 70 E , I 76 E ,I 81 N ,I 78I 95N then the rest of your routing is 861 miles. Running I 64 E all the way over to I 81 is over a 100 miles longer 961 miles. But if you wanted to avoid PA turnpike, I would say US 231 N, I 64E, I 79 N, I 68E, I 81 N, I 78E, I 95N its 904 miles

 

You have gotten some good info here--BUT--just be aware for someone who has never been to the area--DO NO let it surprise you--just because official Yonkers is westchester county and not in NYC proper--YOU will not know the difference--it is basically just the north bronx--no problem--no reason for concern--I just dont want you thinking you are going to some out of town setting..so plan accordingly
