Some of the local dmv offices may not be aware of the commercial laws.
We have different offices in our town for the commercial.

The National Registry of Medical examiners closes this up. Once all the physicals are performed by registered doctors THEY will be sending it in and the driver will be out of the loop; as long as you go before the actual renewal date. Drivers who use their own doctors will be forced to make sure they are registered and approved to do DOT physicals.
Then your CDL will cover the Med Cert. -
Anyone know what happens if you just renewed in 2012? Can you wait to go through all this until it is about to expire in 2014? I live in Florida, but it's a nightmare to get them on the phone. I'm only home every six months to get my mail, so my license has already been suspended once because my insurance lapsed. Any help on Florida would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
** whoops, please disregard. I just found out using that phone number on the master list above. Thank you so much for that number. In the past I had to call in on the general 800 number where you are on hold for over an hour. But when I called that CDL Helpline, they answered immediately and helped me out.Last edited: Apr 15, 2013

Well, you could be a little more creative and combine that 30 min into that waiting at shippers/receivers. Of course it would depend on if you are "wasting time" after the 3rd hour of driving. Those that have worked thru this stuff in their minds realistically already are prepared to "mix it up" and find creative ways to place the 30 minutes into the day and cause the least amount of grief. Those that are just now beginning to look at it, though the regulation was announced last fall, you only have a little over 2 months to get your act together.
I have already started playing a little with the 30 minute thing to learn the best ways to fit it into my daily routine and not be a terrible burden. Until this thing gets put on hold or rescinded, it might be best for folks to start using it once in a while to figure out how to make it all work before the mandate kicks in July 1st. -
Went a week and got no response. But I did pull my DMV report today and it list my CDL medical examiners expiration date as the date from the most recent form so I guess my company gave them the information.

After January 30th 2012, you may present it in person to at all State DMV offices and some County DMV offices.
You may fax them to the CDL unit at 303-205-5709
Or you may mail it to the following address:
Colorado Department of Revenue
Attn: CDL Unit
1881 Pierce Street, Room 164
Lakewood CO 80214
You need to take the time to view all of that prior link to make sure you did everything you need to do. Absence of the law is no excuse when it comes to this.Colorato Thanks this. -
It's already showing on my record. I was just adding that my company must have submitted it because I didn't.
Thanks for the info tho. -
Oh and I'm not actually from CO. The username is actually from my personal truck.
But thanks again.
