My company requires all parked cabs and trailers to be parked at company or client secured property, unless specific authorization is given else wise.
That said, many drivers park their rig at local walmarts...
I have no local yard and am home daily. So I pay for a parking spot at a local Public Storage property.
I am in a dense suburb and truck spots are hard to find.

Thanks everyone, these replies have all been useful

FYI I can remove that glad hand lock with a pair of vice grips or the right size wrench. There is only 2 screws that hold the plate on the glad hand. Not very secure just for future reference. They are more a deterrent then security . King pin locks are messy but they are also the best security short of internally blocking a service line.

And people wonder why there is a parking shortage at truck stops. Nothing worse then driving all day and going into a truckstop and have half the spaces taken up by people leaving there trucks and going home. Would think the truckstops would not support this due to less money they are making from actual drivers who need somewhere to stay ,eat, shower and spend money...In my Humble Opinion...........

I see your point, however keep in mind not everyone is fortunate enough to have a good place to park

If you can not park at a yard or your house then I would find a pay site that has security. One day you are going to come back to that truck missing stuff. I live 7 miles from a gated yard I drop my trailer at yard and still bobtail home. I have to much stuff that I can not afford to walk off. I understand people having limited places to park I would just think that there is other possibilities. Think of it this way lets say you have a pilot that has 50 spaces and it is the only place to park for miles . And 25 drivers use the analogy hey i am at home so I can leave truck a truckstop. What do the other drivers who are stuck out on the road running out of hours do then??? I would think that a pilot manager could loose his job or the very least get wrote up for allowing unattended trucks to be parked for days at a time. I know my local one does not allow it and trucks are towed when unattended for long periods...

King pin lock meets Insurance stats for my company.

I guess i will have to wait and see How my company handles this issue. I would be able to bobtail home though if there's somewhere secure to leave the trailer. It seems there are many options

A lot of people don't like to bobtail very far unless they just have to, the tractor is squirrely without it's trailer.
