As far I know Cali, is KP/A of 40' to the REARMOST axle center, unless it is a single axle, which we have one, then it is 38' KP/A We have never had any issues at that length, and we are all 53'ers.

I am guessing he was 42.5. As far as the fine there should be a number to call on the ticket.

Im thinking 2'6" over too... I mean there is 3" of ambiguity in the law (whether you measure from the forwardmost point on the kingpin, the center, or the rearmost point).

I'd seen it in multiple articles, but never went to go look because it doesn't effect me. Sure don't see it on Caltrans...

why would i need to learn something that has NO significance or practicality to me????

my axles are non adjustable and legal for all 48. only thing i have to worry about is axle and bridge weight.
