Slow traffic keep right doesn't mean the speed limit doesn't apply to vehicles in the 'hammer lane'.

Also, the law isn't "slow traffic keep right", it's "keep right except to pass".

You sound just like a supertrucker who thinks they own the highway. Well guess what? You don't, so get off your high horse and learn how to follow BASIC traffic laws.

Sometimes people leave some stuff on the roofs of cars. This guy in pick up had 50 pound bag of something. On the hood. Driver side too...

Most states follow the Uniform Vehicle Code and require drivers to keep right if they are going slower than the normal speed of traffic (regardless of the speed limit; see below).

The above is taken from MIT's website, that has links to each states specific laws. http://www.mit.edu/~jfc/right.html

You sound just like someone who thinks they know what they're talking about. Well guess what? You don't, so get off your high horse and learn how to follow BASIC traffic laws.

I'm on a high horse now? LOL

You need to reread that because you just made yourself out to look completely foolish. That link you gave seems to agree with my statement.

Not a single state law says it's OK to exceed the speed limit if everyone else does. 2 wrongs don't make a right, and I don't know of any cop that would write a ticket for impeding traffic if you were driving the posted speed limit.

You are right about arguing in this thread. I thought the link in post 43 would would end it. Apparently not.

I apologize for contributing to derailing this thread. Go here if anyone wants to continue this separate discussion.

I wouldn't call this an argument. An argument involves name calling, then fists, then knives, then guns, then police, then national guard, then left wing extremists who want to make arguments illegal.

You are right in saying that most states follow the same basic principal, but the principal isn't correct. If you aren't passing anyone you don't need to be in the left lanes, regardless of how fast you're driving. One vehicle traveling under the posted limit can be in the left lane provided they are either passing a slower vehicle, their exit is to the left or there's an obstruction they need to clear (such as a broke down vehicle on the shoulder). Saying slower traffic cannot ever be in the left lane is absurd, because no matter how fast you drive some idiot will want to go faster.

and those most states do not enforse those laws why you have slow moving traffic in the passing lane traveling not passing but getting passed in the right hand lane. Now I do not think Ghost Ryder acting as a know it all but speaking of what he may have seen. I know I seen what he been talking about.
