There are times when teams have to sit too. But I get what you meant by your post.
-
Whats your opinions on teaming? I did it for a while and it was kinda fun. You know having someone watch your backing, making money around the clock.
Down side, I hated not stopping. Too many people inside that little cab. -
I was a trainer for a few months and teamed with a girlfriend who is now just a friend for three months after that.
I'll never do either again. I like sleeping in a stationary vehicle. Aside from when I was a trainer, I didn't make any more money with the truck constantly moving than I have as a solo driver.

You have to get along really well with the person you're with and you have to not mind going, going, going, going, going. Mike did it for a month and hated it but the guy he was with drove him bananas.
Think about it really hard and try to be able to do a trial run if you can so you can see if you can handle it without messing anything up

"Idle" is a Four-Letter Word
Idling the engine to run the heat or AC while you sleep isn't just an expensive waste of fuel, it's against the law in many states. So we added an optional battery-powered HVAC unit that runs up to 10 hours before needing a recharge.
This is the new cascadia from freightliner. Kind of neat eh!
I wont be teaming anytime soon, I was just curious. -
One Of My Instructors In School Loved Teams.he Was In The Navy After 20yrs Of Feeling Motor Vibrate & Ship Moving He Couldn't Sleep So Trucking Was The Anwser

Maybe this should be in the Idling Alternatives thread, but here it goes...
We all drive trucks at 60-70 MPH for an average of say 9-10 hours a day (well I will be after I finish school...
).
So our vehicles are essentially moving wind tunnels... why have none of these wind powered energy companies come
up with a small turbine sytem that could be mounted say within the airfoil above the cab... say 3 - 12" diameter turbines
mounted in some sort of 48"x18" frame, that would be able to charge electrical storage batteries. These could be used
during off-hours in lieu of idling or an APU. I know there would be some issues with the additional weight of batteries,
but other than that, why would this not work? -
so what happanes when you have to shut down for your 10hr in Lost Hills, Ca where its 110F? ...I also heard a rumor that there is a provision for pets in the law which wouldnt surprise me. In Calif your pets have more rights than you do
-
You become very hot and find it hard to sleep
Nope. That's not true at all, just a rumor.
