hhhmm... well. I'll just wish 'em good luck and be safe. The more training you get the better off you'll be..... under "normal" training procedures. Who knows what the hell's goin' on these days. Just be careful and use common sense.

Well if you must go the sponsored school route then I would definitely go with Schneider.

Both of my brother-in-laws are truck drivers and they went the sponsored school route. One is working for Werner and he loves it! The other is at USA. He almost quit USA but he got a new dispatcher is finally get miles so he is happy again. Now they are both solo and that is a whole different beast from teams. I mention this because they are both at companies that get bad reviews and they are happy. I think it also depends on your attitude.

    Good luck!

ok at schneider i had a couple of teams (one husband wife team) go through training with me, at the training academy (sta) you will be together since its the first 2 weeks classroom/first driving portion and its a class of between 20-50 people when you go out on the road with your training engineer (te) it is suggested you go out with separate te's because you will get more driving time while with your trainer but you can go out together. you will be with your te for 2-4 weeks and then get your own truck. the 2 week sta is hard fast and intense but is very do able if you study every night and dont have to much "extra-curricular" activities. i also believe they went through a 1 day team training on team specific aspects of schneider after they got done with there te's. the husband wife team had separate te's and i ran into them but did not have much time to talk only that they were glad they went with different te's

You mentioned Expedite Solutions as a possible choice, whatever you decide STAY AWAY FROM EXPEDITE SOLUTIONS. You can read about them on ripoffreport.com, scam.com, expeditersonline, ect. BAD NEWS!

Don, my wife and I team for US Xpress and the experience has been great. It will depend on your fleet manager and your relationship with your wife. It is not easy living together in about 40 square feet. You need patience and you really need to try to have fun.

I doubt you'll get an answer from Gazza. They haven't been here in almost 3 years.

They do not train you together but I know husband/wife teams who are driving for Central Refrigerated. They have their own school. My wife and I drive for US Xpress and are very happy but Central may be a good option for you due to their school.

I am a bit concerned about your requirements. You need to be as flexible as possible to get started. Being apart sucks but it is only for a couple of months and then you will have MORE than enough time together (trust me on this) :biggrin_25519:
