    Hours as follows

    4/25 - Thur - 11.5 (14:00 hours finish time)
    4/24 - Wed - 13.5
    4/23 - Tue - 0.0
    4/22 - Mon - 5.5
    4/21 - Sun - 9.0
    4/20 - Sat - 10.50
    4/19 - Fri - 12.75
    4/18 - Thur - 0.0
    4/17 - Wed - 0.0

    8 day total 62.75
    Available 7.25
    Company works 70/8
Log books are Midnight on the far left of the paper log grid
and midnight on the far right of the paper log grid

The way I understand it, I have 7.25 total available at any and all time of day points from 00:00:00 am Friday 4/26 through Friday 23:59:59

Am I right in my perception that I can accrue no additional time available during the above 24 hour period, if the company is indeed using midnight as the 24 hour starting point?

I am new to this company, and not sure exactly what they use as a 24 hour starting point. perhaps it is noon instead of midnight?

The company does not use 34 hour resets, which is rare, but within their legal rights to do so.

    Thanks

    you got it....

you burned up your 70 hour clock and after you drive/on-duty those 7.25 hours, you are outta luck and done for 34 hours or pick up those 12.75 hours in two days.

It wouldn't be at noon. The new day always starts at midnight.

In the above scenario, why would you have 13.5 hrs on duty/driving? Do you have to load/unload trucks at this company?

In addition, as you stated you would have 7.25 hrs available to drive and be on-duty on the eighth day. Then, at midnight you pick up the hrs from the first day you were on-duty, which is 12.75 hrs listed on Friday 04/19.

Actually he would pick up those hours after midnight unless I am missing something. those other two days of zero hours would have dropped off already

just remember you will always have a day fall off, IF you can manage your driving better then try to stick to 10 hour days and you wont have to worry about going over

    Thanks for the help.

I see now where i was confused - I can start work again at 7.25 hours before 23:59:59 Friday

I am used to a Mon - Sat breakfast time daily start hours of service perception.

The 'round the clock starting times are new to me.

To answer Scooter Jones - driving plus breaking down and building sets and like that. I may go to 2 or three locations in the course of a work day cycle. Each one could mean drop & hook, set up or breakdown sets, drop trailers at docks, and so on.

10 hrs a day for 7 days is 70 hrs. You wouldn't have any hrs to drive on the 8th day if you use that scenario. The actual number would be 70/8 if one doesn't want to worry about running out of hrs.

your right and im a dummy :p
One tip, try not to be one of those who like to sit around for on duty not driving time, if you got the loads then run the hours driving as much as you can, I heard some people like to milk the not driving hours just to make sure they get some pay.

what time did you go off duty Monday the 22nd ? what time did you go on duty Wednesday the 24th ? you might just have a 34 hour restart in that time frame !
