You seem to be the only one on here who has any issue with Sharkey. That's fine. I don't talk down to you, so I don't understand why you would talk down to me. That's just plain rude. Lots of us like working here. You didn't, so move on. You obviously have some sort of vendetta or something or you just would give a crap about what people have to say about Sharkey. Dang, I could understand if you were talking about JB Hunt or something like that. But your rants just don't make sense. I respect people's opinion, but if I was you, I would just let it go. Your loosing your credibility. Good luck to you Driver. You'll get your dream job. In the mean time, leave mine alone. Shoot, if you come across one better (that's stable) let me know. I'll make sure you get a referral fee!
People who are looking to come to work for Sharkey will do their research just like I did. I talked to several drivers that were on the road currently working for Sharkey, Sisbro, and Core. Everyone had nothing but good things to say about Sharkey and the sister companies. I will take 15 good opinions before I would listen to just one bad one. The trucking industry is negative out there. You could talk to a guy who is home every night, off when he wants, and making a million dollars a week. Even he would find something to complain about. But that is the nature of this business. It's negative out there.
But even you have to admit (deep down) their is a lot of respect here and this company treats us better than 99% of trucking companies out there. Good Luck to you in your job search!!Outlaw 13, Lonesome and semitruckwife Thank this. -
Short cut - you are probably correct , I have been posting my own war against Sharkey & I am sorry ! I am going to delete my post & start with a fresher outlook . If I said things that were wrong then again I am sorry ! Hope you enjoy your days/years with them , be safe & careful !
OUTLAW 13 ......
PS - this also goes to "semitruckwife" !!Short cut Thanks this. -

I keep looking at other companies. But I just can't find one that is gonna top Sharkey so far. The pay is decent, free insurance (no matter how bad it is, I don't use insurance anyway) and I get home every weekend and any other day that I need off without questions. The Mack's are under powered and old but they still do the job. I pull reefer so the wait times are ridiculous. Today I sat 22/24 hours. But my gross for the week will still be over 900 which is good enough for my house hold. If I was with another company if have to gross over 1000 a week to make up for having to pay for the insurance. Guess I'm not leaving anytime soon. Been here since last June.
Lonesome Thanks this. -
Glad to hear some drivers like the company ! Thinking back , maybe they were not so bad , but I guess I still would not go back to them . My own reasons . Hope you all have a great stay , be safe & drive safe !

I think Monday I'm gonna be calling my driver advocate and requesting my old dispatcher back. This new guy just isn't cutting it. No communication skills at all. He will change my load 2,3,4 times and not say a word to me. Ill wake up with 3 loads to pick up on the same day all delivering to different places and not a word from him telling me what one is my current load. That stuff don't fly with me. Communication is key in trucking. Especially between a dispatcher and the drivers. I've been through more then one dispatcher in my time and I'm sure ill go through more. I'm not afraid to speak my mind an tell them how I really feel about stuff. I was looking for a job when I found this one and I'm sure I can find another if they don't want to cooperate.

Try dot foods they hire out ta quincy too

How long has this guy been your dispatcher? It takes time for them to understand the ropes. Why did your old dispatcher leave? Was that the companies decision? It may not be that easy to request him to come back. You say communication is the key in trucking which is very true. But that works both ways.Try communication with your new dispatcher.
