If you are operating with a m/c# and a dot# and
are required t o keep a logbook, then you have to show y
Y our off duty and sleeper berth time. And yes they can ask for recieps. -
they can ask for anything they want.
You have to produce whats required and receipts are not required.RickG Thanks this. -
Had a scalemaster want proof by way of motel to prove I was not working.
-
It's not your job to prove you wasn't working, it's his to prove you were. They try anything they can on the unknowing. Last time I was asked about receipts I said you mean I'm supposed to have them?
Once they know you know their game they move on to the next thing. -
They were going to charge me with false logs of off duty and I had to prove I was. She stated I was probably pulling a trailer and lying.
-
They can make any kind of threat they want. Off duty means just that none of their business. I've asked for a supervisor more than once.
I had one few months back at scales on I10 in fl run out to bother me, he started some talk about logging. I looked at him told he's wrong and the doofus said he's checking to see if I Knew the rules. If one was to threaten me if I didn't show receipts I ask them to show me where it said I had to and how they intended to prove I wasn't off duty. -
I haul cars 150 mile of Nashville and sleep in my bed just about every night not great but doing ok but im home that's what I like after being on the road for over 25 years
-
She had already stated that I would be put out of service for 10 hours if I could not prove what I was doing on the two days. I had to deliver the trailer that day. It was Friday and it could not be delivered late. Besides, I was in Canada at the Montana side of the scale and did not want to spend 3 days in their country.
So, a person could argue the facts and still win and lose.
I am well aware of the rules and also know that as of 2005, we are required to have substantiation. -
Please post the rule requiring substantiation . The interesting part was being in Canada though . Look at any carrier's OOS percentages and they will always be higher in Canada . Does Canada allow Off Duty in a nonmoving CMV ?
