ooohhh...now that is one I haven't heard before even though I have been around the flat bed community. Good one, Bayle
-
Yeah, Bayle, that is a good one, made me chuckle! Actually, I had heard that the Reefer guys/gals are the "cool" ones, lol.

You are going for orientation, you will be bussed and fed. The others are going to the driver training school to receive instruction and get cdl or refresh.

Thanks Treefork

For what it's worth, I started with flats immediately after graduating from RDTC back in February and am doing fine. It's fine to start with van, but don't be dissuaded about going for flats. They send you down to Gary for 1 1/2 days of securement training right after RDTC, and during your on-the-road training phase you go out with a trainer who runs flatbed.

Hey guys nice to find and read this thread. I've pretty much made up my mind with roehl and need to get a few papers in so they can do job offer.
I am fresh out of school so would start with orientation. Do they only do this in Wisconsin or do they have it at other facilities? Hope to be out there towards the end of next month so maybe well cross paths -
Good info thanks. I'll definitely give it a go at some point.
-
Anyone know where I would be based out of for National Van since I'm from Oklahoma? would I primarily run out west or east?
-
I know they tout that 90% of there freight starts and ends east of i35 but may e someone who has better knowledge knows more
