Well i like the guys in the 73 mph trucks yelling at me on the CB Radio while i am doing 58 MPH..
I love these guys..They get by me and they give me the old ''joe kool'' look and then they send me a ''strong'' messege by almost clipping my front bumper...5 miles down the road i just have to show them who the new sheriff is around here.I then blow there doors off with the Old Triple Didget Jaloppee i have...![]()

Look, I do the best I can to stay out of the way, even slowing a little to let a creeper go by, but I'm not going to follow another truck going slower for hundreds of miles just because I might be in your way for only a couple.lonewolf4ad, jeepnut_nh, Roadmedic and 6 others Thank this.

Exactly. Seems we have become a society full of "perfect" people (according to their postings, anyway) who have never, ever inconvenienced anyone for even a microsecond, and unless proper protocol is followed every second of every day for every tenth of every mile, somehow in the minds of those, others are not, nor could they ever be, the driver that they are.
Sometimes, the monster that social media has created is intolerable.jeepnut_nh, Ghost Ryder, truckon and 2 others Thank this. -
There are a lot of variables which influence your decision making in this process.
I try to be couteous and move to the right when I can, but if I am climbing a big hill with a light load in the center lane, and there is a parade in the right lane 1/4 mi ahead doing 30, sorry if you if don't like my doing 60 in a 65 but I am not dropping to 30 in the right lane so you can speed by at 70, cause I can never get back out. When I can I will move over. I will yield to ramp traffic or trucks that want to pass, when it is safe and makes sense to do so. I do notice a lot of younger truck drivers sitting in the middle lane ad naseum and not moving over. The governors put on trucks do not make this easier, it's like restrictor plate racing, the more you bunch things up, the hairier they get.LaBubba, freedhardwoods, Tonythetruckerdude and 2 others Thank this. -
Your truck is more important than mine. Got it. If I'm doing 50 in a 50mph zone and come across someone doing 30, I will slow down to 25 instead of passing. If there's a broke down vehicle in the shoulder, I'll risk sideswiping the car instead of 'blocking' you for a few seconds.
What a load of ####. -
Next time, quote the entire post instead of part of it. Keep doing stupid crap like that and then we will have a problem.truckon Thanks this.

You can't have both. If I'm passing someone or trying to clear an obstacle then I'm no longer the slower vehicle. I will merge back over when the lane is clear, but I'm not going to stay behind another slower vehicle for 100s of miles just because you want to pass.
And you didn't answer the other question. If you're doing 81 and someone wants to go faster, are you going to immediately change lanes like you want all of us to do? Same scenario, only this time you're the slower vehicle. I'll answer that question for you. No, you won't. You're going to wait until the lane is clear and then merge back over, just like the rest of us would. If everyone followed your skewed ideals about what the laws mean then no one would ever be in the left lane, including yourself.Last edited: Apr 27, 2013

it's not those who are out there passing ,slowly or not, who are the problem.
shoot I even get over for a lighter Swift truck going up a hill. lol
it's those who stay there because they don't want to deal with merging traffic, trainer taught them it is the "safe" lane to be in, they are playing traffic cop or really don't care about those behind them. -
This is what I've been saying, yet there's a few in this thread that think even just passing a slower vehicle is a sin, and you're not a professional if you merge into the left lane.
BTW, I won't play traffic cop. I'll call a real one in a heartbeat if you pass by doing 80+ in a 60. Then you can explain to the cop that it's OK to speed if you're keeping up with the flow of traffic, while he's writing you a ticket.truckon Thanks this. -
