Just don't tell your FM your back is stiff unless you want to learn how to secure skidded coils again. LOL

I am glad I took a sip of coffee before I readed that otherwise coffee would be all over the my desk. I just love a good inside joke.

Ten-four!! I learned my lesson the hard ward on telling certain folks that my back was sore. It was like the freakin' SWAT Team swoops outta the sky from black helocopters and whisks you off to NLR for medical interrogation and you ain't getting back to your truck anytime soon. LOL. Unless you know Sarge and he has a load going back that way, that is....

I got a load out of Charlotte Pipe Monroe, NC this week. You're right Sarge, takes about 15 minutes to fill out the new trailer swap Macros. I dropped a 05 East trailer that I got all fixed up and just got a DOT inspection on last week. Picked up a 06 Reitnower(sp).
The previous driver reported nothing wrong with it. It had a light burned out, missing hasp for the tarp box, left side tarp box won't close all the way, a bunch of extra blocks left in it and is overdue for service.
Got home yesterday and fixed the light and tarp box. I had a spare hasp in my truck I put on it. I will be getting a pm done on it as soon as I get through a yard. Getting sick of these drivers that run these trailers into the ground and then dump it somewhere for another driver to deal with!

A 2006 trailer thats beat up? See it all the time. On older trailers things will be beat up. The tarp box hasp could easily have been lost by the yard jockey. The light could have burned out the instant you hooked up to it. I cant count the number of times Ive done my pretrip, stopped a few miles down the road for something and a light is out. As for blocks, every driver has a different definition of too many. If I cant close the gd box its too many otherwise I dont care. There are certain things that concern me with a dropped trailer and blocks, lights and lock hasps arent any of them. Im concerned with bald/bad tires, air leaks and other mechanical issues. This trailer drop macro is just gonna be a pia for everyone because drivers will report every tiny little scratch on a trailer, light burn out etc. Ask yourself, what if that 2005 you dropped in supposed good shape has someone like you write it up because a light is out,the yard jock pulled a mud flap or some other little thing that is entirely plausible wasnt that way when you dropped the trailer.

So long as everything goes well I'll be turning my truck in this week. I have loved working here and it makes me a little sad to go but my next job gives me access to health insurance and a couple other things. Maverick told me they have no plans to offer group health for IC's so with the coming mandate I have to have it. I'll also be able to take my dog with me when I like (a great stress reducer) and train new drivers should I wish to. I'll know for sure in a day or two Id imagine. I'll still be around the forum here though :)

I don't care if it;s a 1950 trailer it shouldn't beat all to hell.If you want to carry all them blocks then take them with you when you leave don't leave them in the trailer.I care about everything from condition of the lights to the suspension and the tires.
I'm not saying a light can go out but it probably was out when he dropped it.
