Greg Werner made a statement in a trucking publication about a year or so ago that I read where he stated that they were going to concentrate putting more for in brokerage and less on their own trucks.

Oh how the cookie crumbles........think about it! What you expected was not what you received from your perception. I know new drivers who went to W after "school" and liked the program.

Trucking is tough! That is until you get a handle on what these companies are like. Basically they are all the same. So if your thinking about jumping.....don't. Stick it out for 2 years at W. and gain the experience you must learn to move on as professional driver.

After all, when you realize that the only thing your suppose to do is follow directions (within limits of safe driving) then you may find it is not as bad as you think it is. If your not getting miles, then go into the home terminal and have a one on one sit down with your Boss. Ask him or her what must you do to get higher miles....then take action, plan your work and work your plan.

I ave 3000 mi long haul per week.....and at the rate my company pays...that's about $1100 gross per week, sometimes more and sometimes less. Actually this is one of the easiest careers I have had included in my 40 years being gainfully employed. The hard part was getting use to being out weeks at a time.

Over the road trucking is a lifestyle...not a job....and it too has good days and bad days.

The focus on regional and dedicated Family Dollar stores has probably helped keep them in the black.

They have all moved down to Florida. They Have most of AB, Coca-cola, Sears, Home Depot, Kosher?, part of family dollar general and who knows what else. I95 & I75 is nothing but a stream of big blue variety.
