Absolutely it is the additives that are put into the cigarrettes that make them horrible. They have genetically messed with the tobacco so much it doesn't resemble the tobacco that built this country, but it the is cancer-causing chemicals that really do a number on the poor cigarette smokers. What I can't understand is why something so dangerous as cigarettes are not only legalized by our government, but subsidized as well, and marijuana, which is in a much more natural form, is illegeal? Makes no sense to me.![]()

Tobacco. Interesting word , wonder where it came from and who is the first person to give the leaf / plant that name.?
I see your a wannabe , what is stopping you from driving OTR?
Being your in Northern Cal, R U close to Bay Meadows & Golden Gate Race Tracks? -
That's the Bay Area, I'm up in the hills in the rural part of California. I've got a few things stopping me from learning how to drive, but who knows, maybe I will get over them and go for it one of these days.

About the only way to put a stop to these ridiculous bans is civil disobedience.
Quite simply, smoke where you want. If everyone does it, and everyone gets fined......
Now that it is a provincial offense, all not guilty pleas have to be heard in provincial court.
If everyone gets a ticket and subsequently pleads not guilty, the court system will be so backed up with SMOKERS the real criminals will not get to court.
As for smoking in trucks goes.... Go for it. Take the chance. Or.... Better yet.... Let's all pick a time and take a smoke break on Friday afternoon at around 5:30 p.m. on the shoulder of highway 2 in both directions. The moving in and out of traffic, and placement of all the emergency triangles should snarl traffic for hours.
Since I am currently management, it is my duty to inform my drivers of the law and tell them.... "Don't break it." They will listen to this instruction about as closely as they listen to log book regs and speed limits. It's on them.
As for my truck.... If the premier's name ain't on it, he can bloody well forget about legislating what goes on inside it. -
Bottom line for me and cigarette's is: the Govenrment allows the product to be made and it is a scientific fact that the "Manufactured Cig", causes cancer , kills your body slowly , sometimes faster.
So why is it made and sold.
I am a smoker and everything you said about them killing people is correct, but like many I started smoking long before the health care providers new the real damage that it caused. Once I found out later in life I am hooked and have tried quitting several times. It is not an easy thing to do.
The reason the government will never ban or totally eliminate the ability for cigarettes to be sold because they like getting the billions of dollars in tax revenue.

I'm suprised California didn't beat them to the punch on this one. What a lame law! I understand if there was someone in the truck that didn't like it but a solo driver should be able to do what he wants. Personally, if I get sent in to Alberta I'll smoke anyway....albeit while watching for the RCMP....

I really hope that U can find it in your soul to stop smoking cigs.
Here are a few tips for you, try them and see if they help:
Take 10 cig's a day w/ U ,thats all U get for 24 hrs.
Next week take 9 , the next week take 8 and so on.
Brush your teeth more often , worked for actress
Angie Dickinson
I really feel for you and the nicotine in your body.
Treat yourself to a sauna or a steam room once a week if U can. Helps sweat out toxins.

I feel for me too, but like I said when I started they did not know of all the dangers.
Actually my husband and I are both going to try Chantix again. We tried it before but it gave us both upset stomachs. We both want to stop, There is not good reason to keep smoking. We spead approx. 100.00 a week for the both of us. we want to put that money aside and take a nice vacation in a year. It is really addictive and I am sure it will not be easy. Wish us Luck!

I'm not a smoker but this is stupid. This is what happens when the power happy people in government get a little lead way on a topic. They go bezerk. I don't have a problem with smoking bans in public places, like at parades, city zoos, stuff like that. But I don't agree with smoking bans in bars and resturants, that should be the decision of the owner. I don't agree with the smoking bans in homes or vehicles. That's going to far.
