Sometimes I find a place in a obvious place, but never stop because I don't fuel there. Today I was at my 10th hour and didn't want to stop at the J in Ashland, KY.
In Charleston, WV on the West side of the river on the 64/77 the is a convenience store called "gomart". You can see the sign in the sky with bright red and green numbers indicating the price of fuel. There are about 30+ parking spots, price of diesel is average, but there are restaurants everywhere in easy walking distance.
This place is getting a star on my Google map
IHOP
McD's
Texas Roadhouse
Bellacino's Pizza
Bob Evans
Texas Steakhouse and Saloon
Subway
Lone Star Steakhouse
El Patron Mexican Bar & Grill
Wal-Mart 4 miles to the North
There are a couple of auto parts stores, a few motels, K-Mart, a laundromat 1.3 miles away, and a VA outpatient clinic nearby.

This truck stop was probably nice in it's day, but it's a bit run down now. $10 to park for 24 hours, but I don't think anyone checks.
I found many ethic restaurants with in walking distance. Darn near everything you can think about. I wouldn't go out of route for this place, but if you need to stop in Norfolk area, I would come here.
Avoid Frank's Trucking Center on the South-West side. That place moves a bunch of fuel, but there isn't anything there except their own very average nothing to talk about restaurant. Gravel lot and lots of dust :cough: -
That pitucular block has food for everyone, bet they have a walmart too, lol. My stomping grounds, lol.

I used to go to Roanoke Island, NC oncea week. There are tons of smaller mom and pop places that were thebomb. Then we would hop the ferry to Cape Hatteras to finishunloading and eat right on the dock rain or shine (we would eat lightif the water would be ruff on the way back.
I try to stay away from the chains andlook up food reviews for whats around us.
