Dually w/3-4 wedge, Medium duty w/ 4-5 car or semi w/7-10? Please help

Well I pretty much promised the wife I wouldn't go OTR, and I may not have to because I gotta pretty good and busy lane running between San Diego and Sacramento, although I do hate SoCal roads.... I might try running a triangle between SD, Sac, and Vegas or something goofy like that, and of course once I get a bigger trailer (6 car) I might try to see how I can do running out as far as Texas. But it's a tough decision, what makes more- a wedge type that can handle 2-3 big loads or a 6 car EZ loader type of trailer?

Haha This is my scenario. I also pretty much promised I wouldn't go OTR either. My wife didn't see enough of me when I was towing. Working from 7a.m-7p.m. and on call after that for 7 days a week with every other weekend off. Sucks to sit down to dinner only to have your phone ring, or to try not to wake her and the kiddo up at 3a.m. because someone's jackknifed their rig. As for the question about a trailer, I'm semi-considering a step deck or something similar to have more versatility for larger trucks, equipment, and other various loads. SunCountry makes a nice 3/4 car hauler that's like a flatbed trailer. Hydraulic loading ramps and everything. I'm just a noob who hasn't taken the leap to get a truck or trailer yet, but just contributing from some of what I have read.

@SemperFiServices I think it depends day to day. I dispatch a 6 car hauler out of PHX and we find plenty of good paying loads out, but little coming back in. But on the back side of that is the limits placed because of the trailer.
With the rig you currently have you can carry bigger stuff and thus more $$ per mile. A larger trailer will allow either 4 small on top that are not jacked up high and three on the bottom that must be cars. Well heck anyone can carry cars, so those prices are lower. I have seen your pic's and know that you are catching on about bigger equals bigger money. Also inops are a royal PIA for a 6 car hauler. Some places will not side load you with a fork lift and many as you know can not be pulled on a trailer w/o damage to your trailer. I would think a float trailer that is low enough to carry the big stuff and hydos up front for a 4th car and of course the biggest, baddest remote control winch you can afford.... I'd keep what you have, and get a 6 car.. seeing as your booked before you leave you would always have a money maker that way, just run what ever trailer will make you the most $$$ that week.
