The moment a broker tells me anywhere less than $1.20/mi. I don't even discuss it with them. I hope they go under. And even if they are hiding a lot of revenue on the trip to up the price. I'd rather see them fail.
The broker is sweating

Wow, he wanted someone to expedite his freight for a loss??? It is extremely hard to remain civil with somebody when they are basically asking you for a huge favor while acting like they are doing you a favor....lol....
A buck a mile....
That load should be $2.70 something a mile, for that load.... $1100 is what that load should have paid, I can see him with an initial offer of $850, and maybe somebody bites at $850, but $1100 is the number on that one.....Tennesseahawk and HwyPrsnr Thank this. -
Who was the broker Windsmith?
-
The poor guy probably died of excitement when he booked the load......
I mean, a jackpot like that..... it's like he hit the lottery. -
Im not to sure that you can get $2.00 pc miler, plus FSC .45 from PA to NC for a Van. I will give up my MC262265 that I have had for 20 years and lease to you, if you can do it weekly

I`m sure they moved it on a company truck. They were just fishing for a sucker so they could profit without turning a wheel.

The key here is that the shipper is in a jam, and that equals leverage.... in the above scenario we're talking expedited freight, not a regular shipment.... and $2.70 isn't unreasonable... that $400 rate is what's unreasonable
-
sounds like the only one sweating it is the OP....
The broker was able to do his job and got it moved. And here someone else is worried about it 3 days later still...BookingYou19 and j3411 Thank this. -
I'm assuming it's a full load, and I'd be curious what the product is.... At $1100 bucks on a full load we're talking $50 bucks a pallet to move it, (assuming 22 plts....) That's reasonable... and if it's one of those deals where the whole load is only worth four hundred bucks, well that's not my problem, good luck finding someone to haul it....
-
I've done that and better with expedite loads such as this that need to move NOW.
Crowley Logistics - not exactly a small player.
The load just got posted up again this morning, so it hasn't moved yet. I posted this 22 hours ago. If 22 hours is 3 days to you, I'd have to seriously question how you're making a living in this business...
Dry grocery.
